Answer #1

The human brain starts developing around 7th week of pregnancy and matures and it changes its shape from caudal to rostral arc, which furthur forms parts of brain such as medulla ,midbrain and pons.

The medulla starts breathing , heart beat and head and neck movement , function of medulla appears before pons but before midbrain,at the end of 9 months of pregnancy fetus shows some movement by his own.

Pons which matures after midbrain and it's function is to stimulate movement of body, visual and hearing perception, and at the end of 20th to 27th weeks the baby in womb started responding to the vibration or percussion done on the mother's abdomen.

The midbrain which forms after medulla and pons helps in discriminating different sounds ,movement of head and heart acceleration etc.

FETAL CAPACITIES AND BEHAVIOUR

The behaviour of fetus is the reflective activities of brain stem.

It is obvious that neonates are capable of crying and lift the side of mouth while smiling but those movement and smiles are fake ,

Smiling and crying is produced by the stimulation of brainstem,

The progressive behavioural changes start appearing with movement of fetal and connect with mother's sound ,also contributes to maturational changes in brain stem and furthur forebrain, brain appears at the 33rd day of pregnancy and completed at the 7th month of pregnancy ,as compared to the forebrain ,brain stem is incapable of reasoning, thought, and other intellectual activities, but participates in sleeping , orientation, sound production, sound perception and other control.

The progressive development of brain leads to progressive behavioural development ,if brain formation or brain development is delayed or obstructed by any means it has direct effect on behaviour of child.
