Write a 3 page paper (double spaced, 12 pt font, 1" margins) analyzing your diet and your risk for chronic disease. Consider your present health state or your genetic risk for various chronic diseases that we discussed class. Select 1 Chronic Disease and comment on your risk factors. Make sure to include dietary and non-dietary risk factors. Make sure to also include how you can change your diet and lifestyle to lower your risk. Be specific with your recommendations for improvement. If you are not at risk for any health issue, comment on why. Heart Disease Type I or Type II Diabetes Cancer Hypertension Obesity Osteoporosis (If you want to discuss other chronic conditions such as Alzheimers, Parkinson's, etc, feel free to but you will need to do your own research on the dietary and non-dietary risk factors.) The point of this assignment is for you to connect your genetics, lifestyle, and diet to overall health and chronic disease. There are many risk factors for every chronic disease that we can manage or modify. Make these changes and you can lower your RISK for getting a disease.

Salt is my main ingredient in my diet..I used to add always extra salt for my recipes. I will also include meat,milk products and fried foods more in my snack and lunch times..I really hate vegetables..
I have recently had some abnormal symptoms in my body like extreme tiredness, blurred vision, Head ache, i could not climb the stairs i have breathing difficulty if i climb the stairs and sweating..I went to the doctor he checked my blood pressure it was 180/110..I got recently diagnosed with hypertension and my cholesterol level also went up like my total cholesterol 240 and LDL 200 and HDL 70..I am already obese and i have family history of my mother with hypertension and type II diabetes and my father died with heart attack..I have more risk for cardiac disease due to my food habits and also my family history..
Doctor advised to follow strict diet followup like salt restricted diet,skip food with high cholesterol and saturated fat..He advised me to include more fruits and vegetables with different with different colors..I have to include whole grain in my daily breakfast and i have too reduce high carbohydrate diet..Doctor advice to go for regular exercise..I am planning to go for swimming and gym..I have to do some aerobic exercises to do best for my heart..I am planning to include some spices instead of salt..Doctor advised to include potassium in my diet like banana,tuna instead of meat, and also raisins, he said it will help to lower my sodium level from my body..
As i have more exam stress doctor told that also one cause for my hypertension, doctor advised to go for meditation to calm down my mind..I don't have smoking habit..so it protect me from one cause..With my busy schedule sometimes i may forget to take my medication ..so i kept some electronic remainder for followup..
