Answer #1

Q. No. 6. Answer :

Ketoprofen is supplied in 50 mg caps.

0.2 gm we need to administer.

0.2 gm means 200 mg.

Because 1 gm = 1000 mg.

So if we multiplies 0.2 with 1000 mg means = 200 mg.

So available drug dose is 50 mg so,  200 mg we need to give means,

200/4 = 50 , so we need to give 4 caps.

So the answer is " 4 caps "

Q. No. 7. Answer :

Morphine 3 mg per hour advised,

100 mg available in 250 ml of D5 w.

So 2.5 ml = 1 mg.

7.5 ml = 3 mg.

So total volume we need to give 7.5 ml.

a) answer :

gtt per minute formula is

Total volume of fluid devided by time in minutes it multiplies with micro or mini drop factor 60 fixed value.

So, 7.5 ml / 60 (drop factor) × 60 (time HR = 60 min)

7.5 gtt per minute. Should be given

b) answer : is 7.5 ml per hour should be given.

Q. No. 8. Answer :

Verapamil 0.2 mg per kg body weight is ordered.

Client weight is 66 lb.

If we convert in to kg, weight is 29.964 kg.

Because 1 lb = 0.454 kg.

So, 66 × 0.454 =29.964,

Per kg 0.2 mg means per 29.964 kgs dose is = 5.9928 mg.

Because 29.964 × 0.2 mg = 5.9928 mg.

Q. No. 9. Answer :

Patient weight is 66 lb means 29.964 kgs.

Tylenol 5 mg per kg body weight advised.

Bottle is labeled 100 per tsp, means 100 mg per 5 ml.

So, 1 ml = 20 mg.

Here we need to give 5 mg per kg body weight.

So 0.25 ml = 5 mg.

So, 0.25 ml × 29.964 = 7.491 mg should be administered.
