5. Dietary fiber are also known as roughage which are the type of carbohydrate or a derivative of the plant product which cannot be digested by the body or cannot be broken by the digestive enzymes.  

There are two different types of dietary fibers. They are: soluble and insoluble fibers.

Difference between soluble and insoluble fibers are as follow:

1.soluble fibers are the fibers which gets dissolved in the water and turns into jelly like substance during digestion wjerewas the insoluble fiber doesn't change even after it comes in contact with water.

2. Sources of soluble fibers are: oats and oatmealsoa legumes , vegetables especially apple, orange and carrot. Sources of insoluble fibers are: wheatbran, whole grains and all the vegetables.

3. It is very healthy for a person to consume dietary fiber because it will improve us with our digestive system.

The function of the soluble fiber is: once soluble fiber comes in contact with the water it will form a gel and swells up causing a person to feel full and is also good for both diarrhoea as well as constipation where as the insoluble fiber is the dietary source for treating only constipation.

4. The soluble fiber slows down the process of digestion and some types of it helps in reducing the risk of heart disease.

Where as the insoluble fiber adds the bulk in the stool and makes the waste products pass more quickly through the stomach and intestine.

5. Soluble fiber provides a source of calories because it will be digested by the bacteria in the large intestine once it changes into gel like substance and during this process few calories are produced whereas in insoluble fiber it cannot be digested at all and hence will only act as a cleansing matter and moves through the digestive tracts.

Influence of fiber in our health are provided or discusses below:

Soluble fiber: lowering down in the absorption of fat, helps in weight management, lowers the cholesterol, stabilises the blood glucose level, reduces the risks of cardiovascular diseases, feeds the healthy gut bacteria, is also good for treating diarrhoea as well as constipation.

Insoluble fiber: helps in constipation as well as prevents the constipation, also helps in lowering the risk of getting diverticulum diseases.
