Ans) The government get involved in healthcare which impacts it:
1. Legislation
2. Regulations
3. Setting reimbursements
4. Providing direct care
- President Roosevelt passes Economic Bill of Right that includes "the right to adequate healthcare" during WWII, US businesses begin to offer health benefits as they compete for workers, giving rise to the employer-based system in place today.
- The NHS treats every citizens, and non citizen to the best of their ability regardless of socioeconomic status. While the US only believes, minimally, The US will help anyone in a life or death situation regardless of their healthcare (ie. anyone would be taken to the emergency room after a horrific car accident), which qualifies as a basic level of healthcare. Though this is not a 'uniform standard of care' as those without insurance are left without annual checkups or access to basic medical care.
