  • Many of us have been taught that eating fat will make you fat and it is as simple as that .
  • Fats can indeed be turned into fat inside your body ,but it is important to recognise that hot all fats are inherently evil and waiting to pounce on your stomach , back side and thighs and cling to them as if they are hanging on For their very lives .
  • Nearly anything a person commnsumes can make thenmm fat . Carbohydrates ,For example , can actually make you gain weight faster than fats .if you eat a plate of pasta swathed in butter , the pasta will actually cause you to gain weight faster than the butter .

Understanding the fats :

  • Understanding the difference in fats may seem to be slightly more complex , as good and fats bear many long and ominous sounding names .
  • In really ,it is not difficult .trans fat and saturated fats are had fats .these are the ones that lead to weight gain and clogged arteries .
  • Bad fats include whole milk , cream , butter ,lard , margarine ,palm and coconut oil and high fat meats.
  • Monounsaturated fats and poly unsaturated fats are considered good fats . They help regulate your mood , keep you mentally focussed , help with energy levels and even help control your weight .
  • Good fats include olive oil, canola oil , avacado , sunflower , sesame and pumpkin seeds and fatty fish .
  • When shopping check nutrition labels For the breakdown of fats .
  • Dont focus on total fats , Gud rather how total fats are derived .
  • Pay attension to the amount good and bad fats and choose products with higher levels of good fats .
  • Ice creams is an example with a high level of bad fats .pea nut butter is an example of good fat .
  • An over all good rule of thumb to remember about fats is that fats that remain liquid at room temperature such as olive oil or canola oil are less likely to lead to weight gain and dogged arteries than fats that are solid at room temperature such as butter and margarine .
  • Striving For a balance of good carbs and fats in your diet is let to maintaining good nutrition and overall health .

Importance of healthy fat :

  • Transport and absorb vitamins A,D,E,K.
  • Help regulate the hormone testosterone which is ised to build body tissues .
  • Enhance the flavour and texture of food .
  • Helps satisfy hunger because they take longer to digest .
  • Should make up 20 to 30 % of your daily caloric intake.
