Answer #1

Option C is correct

Because NSAIDs the non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication inhibit the enzyme Cyclooxygenas (COx 1 & Cox 2), it is the enzyme responsible for production of various inflammatory mediators specially PGs (Prostaglandins) , which cause pain inflammation and fever.

Hence paracetamol, ibuprofen, celecoxib and rofecoxib etc inhibit the Cyclooxygenase enzyme in selective and non selective manner.

(Only answer 'B'). The more specific you are, the better! Phospholipase A2 is an enzyme that cleaves the ester linkage on C-2 of glycerol of phospholipids. It has a variety of purposes in the cell, many of which are outlined in your book. Additionally, the venoms of several dangerous creatures also contain enzymes with phospholipase A2 activity. The eastern diamondback rattler and Indian cobra, for instance, kill more than 10% of their human victims. The breakdown product of phospholipids is...

The venom of the Eastern diamondback rattler and the Indian cobra contains phospholipase A2, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of fatty acids at the C-2 position of glycerophospholipids. The phospholipid breakdown product of this reaction is lysolecithin (lecithin is phosphatidylcholine). At high concentrations, lysophospholipids act as detergents, dissolving the membranes of erythrocytes and lysing the cells. Extensive hemolysis may be life-threatening. Draw the lysolecithin that results when a phosphatidylcholine molecule is exposed to phospholipase A2. Represent any acyl groups as "R."...
