Answer #1

In PRMC in the issue which were explained related to nurse and her negligence towards a patient and the complication developed after these issues are required to be evaluated in detail. In this situation the quality or patient safety concerns were, irregular duty of the nurse, addressing the health standards of the nurse, negligence from other staff and the communication process between the supervisor and the subordinates. In all these situations there has been and hint to be positive from the side of the nurse was very well established. Any way the situation created here can not make the nurse has alone guilty, unless and other wise proved, there are possibility of other chances also that it may be due to various other reason. This particular nurse has been coming or being part of this kind of issue for the first time and she was able to report her mistake whenever she realised that something wrong was happened from her side. This one of the things which makes the quality of the care in the hospital or from the side of the nurse makes it perfect. If it is making her to feel guilty and she was not reported it properly then in later, it will be considered as big remarks to the quality of care provided in the hospital.

Another thing is the patient party wants to fire the nurse, it may not be considered as important, because they will be seeing only the one side of the coin. They are admitted here for about one week and they know this person for only one week, and in the hospital the nurse is working for about more than 8 years and the hospital staff should know her better than the patient. So, the decision to fire or some disciplinary action should be coming from the supervisory or from the management side and based on the patient parties’ reports.

Another important thing in this scenario is the duty time of the particular nurse, there should have some alternative for the same, and if there are any other issues were happening in the nurses house it has to be solved, because a healthy mind can have only a healthy person. So the nurses psychological wellbeing is a must, giving adequate vacation and off duty are to make this kind psychological wellbeing and this has to be considered for a later stage.
