Medical tourism seems to be quite an issue for patients in the United States. Some of these issues might stem from worrying about infections, if patients have to travel to get their dental care and do not live in the US then the risk of infection for them could be very severe. If there is an infection, it is going to be harder for them to recover and they are going to have to get extra care due to those infections, which costs money. Another issue is medications. This issue is especially dangerous because it is known for patients to get counterfeit medications in medical tourism. Communication could be another huge issues, since the patients are not from the US it is hard for them to travel back and forth. If there is something they do not understand about their after care it is not going to be as easy as driving down the road to talk to their dentist.

Answer: Yes, there could be increase chances of developing severity on the dental disease if the patient has to travel U.S for the treatment. Because any disease or infection if not treated on time or the treatment in not initiated at early stage then there is major risk of development of the infection and hence it becomes more severe.

The issue for the medication occurs because it get counterfeit medications in medical tourism. Communication plays major roles and if the patient is unable to understand the major points to take care of the particular infection then there could be chances of increased time to heal the infection.
