There are many types of diets that are popular now a days. People follow diet programmes to stay healthy, fit and loose weight.

One of the popular diet plan these days is DASH diet. It is a Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH). Following DASH diet helps prevent risk of cardiovascular diseases and lower blood pressure. DASH diet emphasises on limiting the sodium intake, fatty foods and food rich in saturated fat and sweetened food.

The DASH diet encouraged on higher intake of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, nuts, fish and poultry. Foods like red meat, soda, sweetened drinks and beverages and high fat content foods are to be avoided in DASH diet
