20.1) A nurse takes vital signs of a dizzy client and finds the systolic blood pressure to be low. The Nurse asks the client to stay in bed and elevates the foot end, checks the clients medication and fluid balance charts and arranges an urgent medical review. The Nurse then keeps fluids ready to be administered if prescribed following review.
20.2) A Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) finds a way to improve storage space by relocating damaged equipment to the workshops.
20.3) An Enrolled Nurse is addressing a client complaint. The Nurse comforts the client and addresses their needs. Later the Nurse reports the incident to the RN and suggests ways to address the issue.
1 The goal of critical thinking is to think like an expert nurse for the best outcome for the patient.Critical thinking helps the nurse to be flexible in clinical decision making ,reflecting on past experiences,listen to others point of views,identify the nature of the problem and select the best solution for improving patient health.Hence this situation is based on Critical thinking.
2 In this situation ,the nurse manager uses Creativity thinking.When incorporated into their thinking ,they are able to find unique solutions to unique problems,generating many ideas rapidly,creates original solutions to problems,being independent and self-confident,even when under pressure and demonstrate individuality.
3 In this situation the nurse use critical thinking skills,by using knowledge from other subjects and fields to provide holistic nursing care and deal with change in stressful environments.it enables nurses to recognize important cues ,respond quickly and adapt interventions and prioritize to make important decisions.
