Validity and reliability must be assesed when critically appraising quantitative studies. Validy is defined as the extend to which a concept is accurately measured in quantitative study. The second measure of quality in a quantitative study is reliability. It is the extend to which a research instrument has same result if it is used in the same situation on repeated occasion.
