Visual arts in nursing

Art forms that are primarily visual in nature such as painting, print making, photography and film making are called Visual arts. In the nursing field, visual art is used in the area of Nursing Education .

Visual arts can be effectively incorporate in classroom teaching, and it helps in achieving the learning objectives by making the students to understand the complex concepts or facts through films, photography and painting.

For example : The film ' diving bell and butterfly ' ( 2007), gives an insight to the nursing students regarding 'stroke'.

Conceptual arts and painting helps the students to understand the emotions and feelings regarding a situation or a pathetic condition. It helps to achieve the objectives of affective domain ( attitude towards a therapy, disease, condition)
