Answer: In nursing practice, nurses plays major role in advocating the patients as they encourage the patients as well advocate them about their rights and policies.
The nursing advocacy includes the protection, promotion of health of the patients. By advocacy they optimize health issues and abilities. Nurses generally targets the prevention from illness and injury in community. And also advocate about the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations.
Sometimes barriers occurs during effective nursing advocacy as while practicing there are many times things does not support the proper action of the nurses. Some of the barriers such as the medical staff which sometimes becomes barriers in the nursing advocacy, lack of time also causes hurdle in the proper practicing. Not only these things but due to excessive workload, nurses are unable to handle the situations as they don't get much time to interact about the main advocacy topics this also causes difficulties in communicating with patients or healthcare staff. Sometimes lack of knowledge among patients as well as in nurses causes much problem. Due to risk fear most of the time nurses didn't take decision or initiative.
These hurdles can be removed by thorough practice as well as property guidance and practices. Nurse should act as a leader and should always ready to take initiatives which are better for the Patients.
