LGBT is considered as one of the vulnerable populations. It can be considered as a gender minority and there are lot of stigma and stress associated with the same. The person who lives in the LGBT community or the sexual orientation has been changed in to so called ‘abnormal’ the person has been treated as a problematic community. The suicide rate among these population is about 1.5 to 3 times higher than that of the heterosexual population. Bullying by the youth, use of drugs and other substances, poor support from the family, being a minority in the community etc were the factors which were leading to the suicide. The so-called normal community not accepting these people as part of the society and finding the job for them is also difficult.
In third world countries like in the LGBT were mainly involved in the prostitution and begging as part of their daily earning. This made them vulnerable for sexually transmitted diseases and being in the unaccepted area of the morality. Also certain religious groups also works against the LGBT population, and they consider it as an illness and it has to be treated. So, they have problems in the religious belief, and this also made these population depressed and increase in the suicide rates.
Empowerment of the community is he very much essential for the up lift of the population. Most of the people don’t aware those conditions so they have to made awareness and there should have positive attitude towards these people. The policy should be made in such a way that the LGBT community problem should be identified and treated. In an example it can be very nicely explained while going to the toilet there will be separate one for gents and ladies, but the LGBT population may not be able to use neither the lady’s toilet nor the gent’s toilet. So, this make them psychologically depressed, but this seems to be a vey small issue for the normal population but has an impact on their life. So, like this while making the laws or policies it has to be considered and the people with these issues should be involved and discussed about their problem. It would make better result for the same.
