The best model of policy making for the LGBT community will be first to understand their needs. If the policy were made without the involvement of their needs, it may not be effective. In the policy level there will be discussion to improve the quality of life and mental health status etc. but they may be interested to be involved with normal people and work with them, rather than labelling them as a community. And their needs will be as simple as that when filling a form in the bank or in some office purpose there should be some additional column to express their gender identity. Also, when they were going to a hospital for treatment in that column also, they need to express their gender. These may be found as very minute changes, but it has a good impact on their life. If there are these changes their self esteem will be improved and they were able to identify themselves an individual, and the local people also known that there are some other groups of people available.
Another example will be when they are using toilet there will be separate one for gents and ladies, but the LGBT population may not be able to use neither the lady’s toilet nor the gent’s toilet. So, this make them psychologically depressed, but this seems to be a very small issue for the normal population but has an impact on their life. So, like this while making the laws or policies it must be considered and the people with these issues should be involved and discussed about their problem. It would make better result for the same.
