Domestic violence sometimes can go unnoticed for years. As a nurse what is your responsibility and how would you know it is happening to your patient?

As a nurse my responsibility is to look for the physical and emotional symptoms of abuse and domestic violence. I can come to know about it by communicating with the client, being sensitive about the cultural differences of the client and then once trust is build asking the client to confide. We should counsel the client and rescue him or her by advising to take help.
