Answer #1

1. ANS: Whenever any change in the health care organization is necessitated it is the role of the manager to control the employee. A manager can effectively do this by having strict control over the employee, installing trust and reposed faith of the employee, being unbiased every time so that employee can trust their manager at most. Generally a manager can set direct strategies like; maintenance of relation with patients, the accuracy in treatment, the punctuality at the work place, less absentees, designing a new pay structure which will be acceptable to both employer and employee, designing new work schedules which acceptable to both parties, feel them free at work place. These qualities of manager can automatically bring control measures on the employee in a health care organization.

2. ANS: Human brains or minds cannot deal with complex problems with rationalism and so they confined themselves with boundaries called bounded rationality. People prefer to solve the problem with the possibility of simple models rather than going for complexity. Rationalism is maintained within the limits.

The least rational way of making decisions is intuition decision making. This can be said to be unconscious process which is adopted from the distilled experience.

I believed that intuition sometimes yields better result while taking any decision, but I always support rational decision making. Whether to goes on intuition or rational decision making depends on the decision to be taken. The rational decision making is the best decision-making process where scientific temper and objectivity can be established by going on the rational of the things. I seconded with Simon who have given rational decision-making theory.

3. ANS: Radical change means to change the system or a process drastically so as to have a desired effect that impacts the entire organization. Radical change management requires more communication from the top management. They need to highlight the changes and impact it will have on the entire organization. Radical changes take place at organization level and impact each one in the organization. Incremental change means to make a small change based on an organizational strategy that doesn't necessarily impact the entire organization and is only instrumental in achieving a small measure of performance improvement.

Both radical and incremental changes are necessity for the process to be changed. Radical change sees things to change rapidly by paradigmatic shift whereas incremental change believes in persistent change by slowly and steadily.

4. ANS: Nonverbal communication utilizes the body, voice, and environment in numerous ways to help put a message across. These nonverbal signals are critical to everyday communication. The factors that make up nonverbal communication are environment/setting, personal space/distance from recipient, posture, hand gestures, facial expressions and eye contact, voice quality, and personal appearance.

In health care sector, non verbal communication can play very significant role in manager daily activities, they are:

Maintaining Relationship with patient

Maintain trust

Warning the patients

Sign of confidence

Showing agreement or disagreement

Management by walking around (MBWA) This is mostly false, but with a caveat. Management by walking around (MBWA) is an organizational principle made famous with the 1982 publication of In Search of Excellence and based on a 1970s initiative by Hewlett-Packard-in other words, it's a dinosaur. But the idea of requiring managers at all levels of the organization to wander around their departments to observe, converse, and hear from employees continues as a common business practice. Many companies expecting managers...
