Answer #1

As we know polar solvent dissolve polar solutes and non polar will dissolve non polar solutes. Though water is universal solvent and dissolve even non polar as well as polar solutes because of hydrogen bonding. The following is the solution which compound will solible in given solvents.

a). LiNO3 is a polar molicule and will dissolve in water.

b). Gasoline is a hydrocarbon, non polar in nature and will easily dissolve in carbon tetra chloride (CCl4).

c). C6H6, is chemical formula for benzene, it is highly solible in carbon tetra chloride (CCl4) and is in solible in water.

d) Na2SO4, is an inorganic, polar molicule. It is solible in water than carbon tetra chloride (CCl4).
