Identify the name of the diet and its purpose (weight maintenance, long term health, etc.).

Explain its key points in terms of nutrition (focus on protein, carbohydrates, etc.).

Also discuss the diet plan and the diet's strengths and weaknesses. Summarize your paper by evaluating whether you believe the diet is one that is healthy as compared to dietary guidelines. The writing assignment should be no more than 2-3 pages and APA Editorial Format must be used for citations and references used.

Mediterranean diet is one of the most commonly flourished diet worldwide.It is widely used to prevent long term diseases like cardiac ailments, diabetes, chronic diseases ,weight loss and lead a healthy life.It can be followed both by a vegan and non-vegan.

It comprises of approximately  25% of fats ,60% of carbohydrate and remaining protein.This makes an heart friendly diet

The diet plan usually comprises of eating vegetables (all plant based), fruits,nuts,herbs,fish twice a weak,poultry occasionally, adequate water,exercise,limited red meat,virgin olive oil,no refined sugars,legumes,egg

Strength:

  • healthy life and long term prevention of chronic disease
  • It can prevent constipation due to fibre rich diet
  • It reduces the level of low density lipid thus preventing cardiac issues
  • Alzheimer's diseases are prevented
  • Reduces the risk of cancer in women

Weakness :

  • Inability to adjust to the diet on daily basis
  • Gluten disorders are expected
