5.The first thing to be done are

  • Check and make sure it is not mixed up with other linens
  • Inform the concerned staff about the linens
  • Request the concerned staff to air tight the linen in an cover, so that he may collect it can be send to the autovlave unit as per the hospital protocol

6.The patient should be made understand that there are chance of spillage during this care,inform that it is the healthcare protocol to be followed when bodily fluids are at risk of contact as a measure of infection prevention techniques

7.Health care professionals working for the patients are always infectious and the chance of disease transmission is high,microorganisms may come in contact and gets sedimented in the materials or ornaments present in the hand.Even after hand hygiene is done,the prevalence of germs in it is possible.So to prevent cross contamination or self infection ,it is better to avoid wearing it and the most important part go be considered.There is also a protocol that during patient procedure there should be no ornaments in the hand.

8.The following PPE will be needed when handling a case where splash is expected

  • Wear disposable gown face mask,goggles,caps and gloves to prevent splash fluids on the healthcare professionals.This can protect the dyes,face,hand and the hospital gown .This will protect the nursing assistant from infection and also cross infecting other patiwnts during care.
