Recommended Dietary Allowance( RDA)

iind option : Average daily level that can provide a sufficient amount of nutrients to cover the needs of 97-98% of the population.

Food and Nutrition board defines RDA as " the levels of intake of essential nutrients that on the basis of scientific knowledge, are judged by the Food and Nutrition board to be adequate to meet the known nutrient needs of practicality all healthy persons".

Adequate Intake

IIIrd option: Reference values used when there is not enough information to caculate the RDA

It is the level of intake, or amount of nutrients, assumed as adequate for healthy people for their daily requirements.

Tolerable Upper Intake Level

IV th option: Many nutrients are toxic when consumed in excess, specially from fortified foods or suppements.

Most of the nutrients are not safe to consume in excess amount, there is a limit. If it exeeds than the limit it will produce a side effects/toxic effect in the body. According to Food and Nutrition board Upper Intake Level( UL) is the " maximum daily intake unlikely to cause adverse health effects".

Ist option: Average daily requirements for adults with a 2000kcal diet commonly used in food labels.

It shows the percentage of food groups in one serving of the food. It can be seen on the food labels
