British government. These acts were known as Intolerable acts
within the colonies.
Boston Harbor was shut down by Great Britain after this party until
damages caused by this party were repaid. Charters were effectively
revoked by Massachusetts under Masachusset Government Act.
Criminal trials of royal officials moved to Britain instead of
holding them in the colonies, under the Intolerable Acts. Britain
was allowed to house its troops in private homes by the Quartering
Act. These laws were intended to punish Massachusetts as a response
towards the Boston Tea Party which lead to outrage throughout the
colonies.
