Surgical method of contraception is a permanent method which is called sterilization.This can be done to the people those who do not want children in future.surgical methods are vsectomy,tubectomy.

VASECTOMY:::

It is a male sterilisation or surgical contraceprion methods.In this procedure 2 small holes are made in the testicles

Advantages:

1.sperm ejaculation is prevented

2.Vasectomy do not have any effect on erection .

Disadvantages::

1.high cost.

2.chances of failure of procedure is high

3.it does not prevent STD.

TUBECTOMY::

Permananent female sterilization is called tubectomy or tubal ligation.It is done under general or local anaesthesia.it is a laproscopic procedure in which small opening is made below the navel.doctor tie the fallopian tubes with a clip inorder to prevent fertilization.ovum can not enter into the uterus and there will not be any conne tion with sperm.

Advantages:

1.Sucess rate is higher than vasectomy.

2.preventing fertilization

3.less expensive than vasectomy.

4.No effect on mensturation

Disadvantages:

1.it does not prevent sexually transmitted disease.

2.bleeding ,infection can occurs.

3.general anaesthesia complications can occur.

4.risk of pregnancy after tubectomy is high in young women.
