In the United States, many people who support organ donation do not themselves register to become organ donors. One suggested idea referred to as a "reciprocity system" is to give registered organ donors who need a transplant priority over non-donors. Surveys indicate that many people think that this policy would increase the number of donors, but that they are unsure about its fairness. How would you assess this proposal?

Answer: Organ donation can save life of the patients who are suffering from organ failure. For meeting the demand and supply, the reciprocity system can be useful as we have seen there are shortage of organ donors so in that case there will be balance between the need and the supply. This policy will increase the number of donors.  

Organ transplantation can save one's life so this policy can be implemented and can be proved to be fair. This policy will enhance the outcomes of the donors participation. Because at present no one knows about the future, so anyone can be in need of the organ. So, this policy will bring out positive results.
