Some of the reasons for the failure of national health insurance legislation are

  • Great Depression, which made blue cross to meet the needs of a middle class family that the pressure on government will decrease
  • Political issues ,where spending a lot of finance on the can affect the reforms to be done in other department like education
  • Individuality:The Americans wish to make decision on self in regards to the selection of the type of insurabce scheme they want
  • Nearly 85 percentage of the people are almost covered with insurance ,any change in the scheme can be a loss ,this acts as a trigger of fear and leading to failure to pass national heakth insurance legislation
  • Expensive,health insurance which are non functional
  • Great difference in pricing system
  • The income of the physician are very high
  • The high earning of the the pharmaceutical companies
