A bridging the gaps by reducing the disparities in health will give everyone a chance to live a qualitatively healthy life. The healthcare services provided in United States are one of the best provided services in the world. Providing health services to the health needs of every citizen is a tough task for any government. Despite the efforts made by the government when these disparities are observed. These disparities are often linked to various social, economic, environmental factors. Health disparities adversely affect groups of people who have experienced greater obstacles to health on the basis of their ethinic groups, religion, socioeconomic status, gender, age, mental health, physical disability, sexua orientation or gender identity, geographic location or other characteristics linked to discrimination.
In my opinion if proper steps are taken then these disparities may always be overcome.
1.Ensuring a strategic focus on communities that are at greatest risk or who have lesser chances of availing health benefits.
2.Providing equal opportunity to one and all for accessing to quality healthcare.
3.Increasing the capacity of the prevention work force to identify and address disparities.
4.Support researches to identify effective strategies which can be used to eliminate health disparities.
5.Standardize and collect data for better identification and understanding.
Similar recommendations have been made in the National prevention strategy elimination of health disparities article by US Department of health and human services.
