Nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistant(PA) are additional licensed care providers. Their multispeciality practice in different fields important in health care organizations. As a multispeciality practitioner they will impact all patient care including cost productivity, payment, physician assistant, compensation in medical service.
Pros:
The nurse practitioner can follow the patient-centered model, disease prevention, health education, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. They can work in several areas like mental health, geriatric, pediatric and women's health.
The physician assistant will follow the disease-centered model focus on biologic and pathologic components of health, making diagnosis, treatment and health assessment. they will deal with the special area like emergency medicine, orthopedic and general surgery.
Cons:
Additional licensed care providers can work with the physician and under their supervision but they can not work as a physician. They must have a state license to work in a particular state as a practitioner.
