1. Indispensable amino acids are an essential amino acid that cannot be synthesized by the body. But these are essential for bodybuilding which can get through food sources. The nine indispensable amino acids are histidine, isoleucine, leucine, methionine, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. Food sources rich in essential nine amino acids are meat, egg, tofu, soy, rice, beans, and dairy products.

The dispensable amino acid is non-essential amino acids that are yield from the breakdown of proteins. The 11 non-essential amino acids are alanine, asparagine, aspartate, cysteine, glutamate, glutamine, glycine, proline, serine, tyrosine, and arginine.

Conditional amino acids are essential during the time of illness and disease. They are glutamine, arginine, cysteine, proline, tyrosine, glycine, ornithine, and serine.

2. Protein sparing means that the body utilizes energy from the sources of carbohydrates and fats. When weight loss diet is low in carbohydrates, then the body utilizes spare protein to meet the caloric needs.
