Answer: The evaluating an assistive personnel use of supplies in infection control.

Related content: The PPE ( personal protective equipments) that is used to control the infection. It is generally used by healthcare workers as they are at very high risk of developing diseases and infection . The PPE consist of clothes, aprons, mask, hand gloves etc.

Underlying principles: The main aim is to protect one self from infection by eliminating the risk of coming in the contact with the germs and microbes. PPE acts as a barrier between the germs and our skin. Patient those who are suffering from any communicable disease are prone to spread the disease if the person comes in direct contact with the fluids, saliva or the blood of the infected person.

Nursing Intervention:

  • Maintaining hand hygiene: This includes washing hands properly, drying as well as wearing gloves before assessing patient. This will prevent from infection.
  • Wearing mask: Wearing mask can prevent from airborn disease as it acts as a barrier and restrict the entering of germs through nose.
  • Apron: The apron prevents our skin to come in contact with the germs or the bodily fluid of the infected person body.
