a) Auditory processing disorder is a hearing disability in which the brain is unable to process the sound in the actual way. Patients with auditory processing disorder have not any structural or functional problems with peripheral hearing. The brain is unable to understand and interpret the sounds.

b) ☆Clinical features:

*Difficult to follow the conversation

*Unable to recognize the sound

*Difficult in hearing music

*Difficult to understand conversations with multiple people at a time.

C)☆ Diagnosis

* Audiologists assess the patient for hearing disability. It requires to undergo various listening test to assess the auditory system.

* Auditory continues performance test : In this test multiple words are played and instruct the child to raise the hand when heard the word 'dog'.

* Auditory discrimination test : This test assess the ability to distinguish similar stimuli with different frequency and intensity.

*Auditory pattern recognition test: In this test the ability to distinguish high pitch and low pitch sounds.

*Dichotic test : In this test the ability to separate auditory stimulus in both ear simultaneously.

*Binaural separation test.

*Monoaural low redundancy speech test : The ability to separate the speech stimulus in one ear at a time.
