1.Faults are planes along which relative displacement have taken place. For the first diagram, B is the hanging wall and A is the footwall.

For the next one, A is the hanging wall and B is the footwall.

Because hanging wall refers to the block lying above the fault plane. And footwall refers to the block lying below.

2. Fold refers to a stack of curved surfaces which, initially being planar were bend through deformation. Fold features:

A refers to the hinge point. Its the point of maximum curvature. The surrounding area is known as hinge area.

B and C refers to the limbs. Its the part between the crest and the trough.
