Salmonella is a bacteria causing Salmonellosis .It is the infection of the gastrointestinal tract causing fever ,loose stools,abdominal pain.

Epidemiology

The recent count shows nearly 1.2 million peoples affected

Nearly 450 people die because of this infection

Incidence:

It is common among teens and young adults who prefer outside foods

Incubation period

• The signs and symptoms can occur from 6 hours to 72 hours .
• In most of the cases definitely the symptoms are seen in about 12 to 36 hours

Mode of transmission

By consumption of food or water infected with this bacteria

Common vehicles

• Contaminated food products like meat,unpasteurized milk and its products ,eggs
• Person working in animal husbandry not maintaining adequate hand hygiene
• Through toilet seats in public area
• Toys of the children if contaminated
