Answer #1

According to the question,

Initial administration dosage size = 250 mg

No. of doses per day = 3

Therefore, total dosage per day of Levodopa initially = 250 mg x 3 = 750 mg

Now, each dosage size is increased by 250 mg every 4th day. This occurs for 28 days.

Therefore, no. of times dose is increased = 28/4 = 7 times.

Now, increase in dosage size over 28 days = 250 mg x 7 = 1,750 mg

Initial dosage size = 250 mg

Therefore, maintenance dosage = Initial dosage + Increased dosage

= 250 mg + 1,1750 mg

= 2,000 mg

Therefore, each administration of maintenance dose is 2,000 mg or 2 gram. Since, 3 doses are administered each day, the total daily dosage in the maintenance period will be 3 x 2 gm = 6 grams.
