What are the pros and cons (benefits, disadvantages, and consequences) of moving from a fee-for-service healthcare delivery system to a value-based model of care in which healthcare systems and healthcare providers are reimbursed based on health outcomes versus a fee-for-service in which payment is based on the amount (volume) of healthcare services delivered?

Answer: The advantage of moving from fee for service to a value based model of care as in the fee for service the physician were paid according to the treatment and services they being provided where as in the value based model of care, the reimbursement is done on the basis of the quality of the healthcare provided to the patients.

The draw back of this is that the sometimes physician may not bbe able to get the payment according to the services they have provided to the patients due to patient's low output of satisfaction level. . In the case of fee for services, the physician used to charge according to their services they delivered and this also increases the payment amount from time to time.
