The scope of practice in nursing refers to the ability ,quality and permitted actions given to a nurse in accordance to their license. In simple it refers to what a nurse can do in their professional practice and given the license for the same.

The Nurse Practice Act in each state determines the scope of practice for nursing.The Board of Nursing formulates the necessary scopes for the nurses which they are trained  to follow in their practice in their nursing career.
