Related content: Grief is a kind of response to the loss or damage happened. Usually patients suffers from grief due to their incurable health or they have lost their loved ones in disasters.

Underlying principles: To assist client who grieving is important. Sometimes grief lead us to mental trauma. It is important to assist and guide the client regarding the grief.

Nursing intervention:

  • Nurse should be attentive while listening to the client.
  • Monitor the blood pressure of the client.
  • Provide counselling to the patient.
  • Encourage patient to stay positive.
  • Provide cultural competence environment.
  • Nurse should provide emotional as well as spiritual support to the client.
