Explanation: As, E.coli do not have any pigment, it will grow as clear to white colour.

YGC plate has a special property. It has an added antibiotic that prevents growth of any bacteria. This media is useful for Yeast growth. So, zones of clearing around each colonies will be found, because bacterial colonies do not grow in that region due to antibacterial effect.
