Cholinesterase inhibitors:

  • Cholinesterone inhibitors are drugs used to inhibit the activity of cholinesterase enzyme.
  • Cholinesterase basically breaks down acetylcholine in the brain. Inhibition of this enzyme can increase of acetyl choline in the brain  that improve the  brain cell communication even more better.
  • It is used in the condition called dementia that is actually caused by alzheimer’s disease.
  • Other disease that are treated by this inhibitors are lewy body dementia, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, schizophrenia and parkinson’s disease etc.
