give a situation when you experienced or observed social loafing. Informed by social psychology theory, suggest ways to motivate social loafers to carry their weight.
Answer- A situation where I experienced social loafing was when I was in a learning team of 6 members in my class . We were given an assignment and in that we were asked to visit an organisation and get insights into the working of that organisation . But no member in my group was willing to visit the organisation . They just were social loafers . Then I alone visited that organisation and got all the insights about that organisation . I did all the work alone in my group .
Ways to motivate social loafers are that they should be given some incentive like, applause, recognition, promotions, gifts etc.
Social loafers should be told about the positive outcome of their work .
Social loafers should be told about the worth of their job so that they may be motivated to do it .
