How might a health administrator use the Christian worldview in strategic planning? (250 Words)
A health administrator is usually responsible for the services and maintenance of the health care centers and supervises the overall operation of the center. While health administrators in every centers may have similar roles as one another but the way they view problems and handle situations differ. When an administrator has a Christian worldview, the way he operates bears a certain signature.
The Christian worldview considers God as the center of all beings. It views people as sinners, Jesus as the savior, and believes in salvation. The view is also centered on the belief that living on earth is a temporary stay and when we receive salvation we will eventually return to heaven. Christian worldview also support that everyone should be holy and try to live their lives ethically and morally. It also preaches self-sacrifice and helping others.
Considering these beliefs, a healthcare administrator will likely keep a benevolent nature towards colleagues, be empathic with the patients, and pray for the well-being of the people around. When it comes to strategic planning, the Christian worldview supports that we can do everything that we can but God has already planned what will happen and it will come into effect. Naturally, as an administrator, when you have these beliefs you put in the maximum effort to take the healthcare organization in an ethical direction with focus on the organizational goals. This means creating a system that is focused on welfare and charity rather than profit margins from the healthcare center. This is where the difference between an administrator with a Christian worldview and a business worldview differs.
