Explain(in detail) how and why the work of Gregor Mendel relates and corroborates to the modern synthesis explaining of evolution.
The modern synthesis of evolution is the fusion of the Mendelian genetics with the evolutionary theory proposed by Charles Darwin and hence it together brings on plate the theory of evolution, also called Neo-Darwinism theory. It emphasized on the fact that how change in the allele frequency leads to change in genetic function within a population and hence gradually led to evolution. There are different factors like natural selection, mutation, gene flow and genetic drift that has contributed to the same. This is because according to Gregor Mendel, also the father of modern genetics, was about to find out inheritance in pea plants and how alleles are responsible for producing genotypic or phenotypic characteristics. This was because the natural selection theory that was proposed by Charles Darwin was integrated with the theory of genetic inheritance by Mendel and hence it helped in finding a lot about evolution.
According to Gregor Mendel, he was able to find out the fundamental law of inheritance and was able to find that a particular gene has two alleles. He helps in finding that offspring is dominant or recessive based on the allele that was inherited. Each of the trait that has been inherited is provided by one pair of gene that are randomly segregated from the parents. He also gave the law of independent assortment that states that gene that are for different traits are separately sorted independent of one another and the trait is provided by the dominant form.
Darwin gave theory of natural selection and he was able to state that through evolution and natural selection the organism are able to adapt to changing conditions. This means that the organisms that are able to undergo natural selection through mutation or change undergo evolution and gradually are able to acquire characteristics and hence is able to survive.

Gregor Mendel derived the laws governing inheritance from his breeding of peas. Charles Darwin formalized the theory of evolution after observing that many organisms have traits making them uniquely adapted to the environment in which they lived. Briefly describe the relationship between Mendel's laws and Darwin's theory. How does each help us understand the other? HTML Editor BIVA-A - IX E 31 1 XXE - ol V V ETT 12pt Paragraph
Based upon the patterns of inheritance he observed, Gregor Mendel proposed his "principle of segregation": The genetic contributions of both parents are preserved intact and are separated from each other and placed into different gametes during the process of gamete formation. Please explain how biologists believe this "segregation" is accomplished during meiotic cell division.
