The lower pH enhances the process of fermentation. The more acidic pH indicates more fermentation.

The yeast cells favour the process of fermentation under acidic conditions with less pH.

If the pH keeps decreasing the fermentation will keep on increasing.

The heterologous organisms produce acidic byproducts.
