Question

I am truthfully not sure how to begin with question one or two, nothing in my course has actually been explained and it's left me a little lost in regards to these two questions. Thanks for the help. I'm also not sure the Pungett square is correct, so please correct it if it's not.

PRE-LAB QUESTIONS - Genetics - Lab #9 1. Humans inherit two alleles for every gene. For an example, gene "R" provides the instructions for face shape. The dominant allele for the gene is denoted as R and the recessive allele for the gene is denoted as r. The dominant phenotype is a round face shape and the recessive phenotype is a square face shape. Use this information to answer the questions below: What is the genotype of a homozygous dominant...

This is the feedback I got for the wrong answers I put in the blanks. Please help correct me! This tutorial will take you step by step through the question. In cucumbers, dull fruit (D) is dominant to glossy fruit (d), and orange fruit (R) is dominant to cream-colored fruit (r). The gene that codes for dull versus glossy assorts independently from the gene that codes for orange versus cream-colored. A plant that has dull and orange fruits is crossed...

The agouti locus in mice has three alleles: a is recessive and confers a black coat, A is dominant to a and confers an agouti coat, and AY is dominant to both and confers a yellow coat. AY is also a recessive lethal. In addition, the independently assorting c allele is recessive (to...

Nameindulia Los Drosophila Genetics Predictions-L113 (20 pts.) Part I. Meiosis and Punnett Squares Remember, whenever you use Punnett Squares to solve genetics problems, be sure you are completing each of the following steps: 1) Identify the genotypes of the parents. 2) For the specific traits of interest, figure out what kinds of haploid gametes each parent can make. In each gamete, there should be one allele for each trait of interest. If there is more than one trait, make sure...

The Hallele (black fur) is completely dominant over all other alleles. The chocolate allele h is recessive to the H allele but completely dominant to all other alleles. On the island of Notion, in the Factotum Archipelago, there lives a population of pencil bears. A portion of these bears have silky fur, and as a result, are much better surfers. The texture of the fur is determined by a single autosomal locus with two alleles: S (trait allele) and s (wild type allele). In a recent study, researched collected the values in the following table: Table 1. Counts of Pencil Bear fur style by genotype Phenotype Genotype Silky...
