Trade unions in Mauritius are briefly supported by ITUC as its strongest body to serve legal issues and protect from litigation or arbitration cases.

The unions also supported by ILO bureau of workers and helps in generating employment policy, minimum wages and trade import restrictions to make sure local domestic production doesn't get affected.

Unions are well protected under DWCP Act which gives them higher bargaining piwerand hence remain resilient in fighting issues related to wages and import.
