General Electric (GE) is positively affecting the environment with changes in their production. The company has started emphasizing the use of production practices that are sustainable in nature. GE makes use of latest technology in its production so as to reduce and minimize the impact of their production on the environment by reducing their environmental footprint and carbon footprint.
The company has been following the principle of ‘ecomagination’ since 2005. Ecomagination is a GE concept in which ecology is combined with imagination. As such GE focuses its research and development (R&D) capabilities with an eye on developing sustainable business practices and practices that do not have a negative impact on the environment.
The company, while engaging in production of its different products, ensures that its greenhouse gas emissions are minimized. It also ensures that the company uses fresh water for production purposes in an optimal manner. Now sustainability is part of GE’s DNA and everything that they do is done with a sharp eye on sustainability.
