Due to the current scenario, there has been a drastic change in the way the business is being conducted. Most common one is the increase in demand for home deliveries and take-outs. This can be adopted in the existing business by creating a lucrative website which showcases our food menu along with pictures of the food items to entice the customers. Then hiring the delivery staff to deliver the food at the customer’s places. Also, the website should include the online payment method so that the customer can pay beforehand and avoid physical contact. Moreover, proper disclaimer should be mentioned on the website that all the items used in the preparation and delivery of food are properly sanitized and the employees adhere to the safety guidelines such as wearing masks and gloves at all times. As everyone is missing out on the actual experience of being outside, we can level up our packing of the food items in a way that it gives more of a personalised touch to the customer’s needs so as to stand out our services from that of our competitors.

Moreover, the delivery staff at all times should wear mask and gloves. They should also prefer online payment methods instead of cash so as to show that our business is serious about the safety of everyone.

At our physical restaurant, now there is more emphasis on cleaning and sanitization. So, we can adhere to this change by appointing more cleaning staff who will stay at the restaurant at all times whose main jobs would include- sanitizing the door knobs, seating arrangements after use. We can also install various sanitizer holders and install boards to remind customers to wash their hands.

We can resort to pre-booking our tables so as to prevent over-crowding

Regular staff meetings should be held to educate all the staff regarding the importance of wearing masks, gloves and maintain social distance at all times.

We can also assign on person to thermally test everyone entering the restaurant including staff.

In these challenging times, there has been decrease in the demand for outside food. So, we can provide combo offers and discount offers to our customers. Also, some types of coupons can be given to regular customers whom they can later on use to buy something.

Also, to reduce the mental stress, we can organize various competitions for our employees and anyone visiting our websites. The winners will be awarded with our restaurant coupons. This will be a good advertisement for our restaurant.
