How can end users sabotage net IT system implementations and what is the cause of this resistance?
End users can sabotage it, by giving excessive focus upon its functional limitations, not adapting themselves to the new IT system and showing inability to work as per the requirements of the new IT system. It is the perception of end users that make them behave in a particular way that they do not focus upon the good aspects and try to adapt themselves, rather they try to raise the alarm and spread negativity among others regarding the limitations and drawbacks of the new system. It leads to the sabotage of the new system implementation process.
The first cause of this resistance
is non-willingness to come out of comfort zone and learn to work in
new IT system. It will make them change and adapt and they may not
want to do it. The second cause is their anxiety towards
the job security. They may feel to be insecure that their jobs will
be eliminated in the wake of new system implementation. So, they
show the resistance. The other cause, is the fear to lose power and
authority what the person gained in the past or existing time. It
will make the end user to resist.
