Stock glucose solution: 25 mM or 25 mmole/L or 25,000 µmoles/L
To get working concentration of 7.5 µmoles following aliquote is needed:
(think like if 1000 mL for 25,000 µmoles/L then how much aliquote for 7.5 µmoles)
i.e
= 0.3 mL or 300 µl
similarly, for 5 µmoles
= 0.2 mL or 200 µl
for 2.5 µmoles,
= 0.1 mL or 100 µl
for 1.25 µmoles,
= 0.05 mL or 50 µl
for 0.5 µmoles,
0.02 mL or 20 µl
for 0.25 µmoles,
= 0.01 mL or 10 µl.

How do I calculate the concentrations for my data sheet lab. I have not started my lab yet but I just need to see how i would calculate it with absorbance. Do i just use Beer's law or is there any other method of solving the concentrations. 7. Weigh 1.45-1.55 g of copper(I) sulfate pentahydrate in a 50 mL beaker. 8. Dissolve the copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate in -15 mL of water 9. Add the aqueous solution of copper(II) to a...
For part 1 of this lab) I collected a soil sample from my campus Part 2) Tested bacteria initial viability Part 3) DNA extraction Part 4) DNA quantification by Nanodrop Part 5) Sample sequencing Part 6) PCR amplification Part 7) Gel electrophoresis Part 8) DNA sequence data analysis (sent sample to another lab) Directions for Part 3 DNA extraction are in the attached image QUESTIONS REGARDING PART 3 (DNA extraction) 1) What type of conclusions can be made from initially...
this is a bacterial growth curve experiment . please explain rhe results Procedure: You will follow the growth of E. coli over the course of the period (3 hrs) by making direct counts of the bacterial suspension by measuring the turbidity of a sample at a given time with a spectrophotometer. The data obtained from the direct counts will be used to plot a partial growth curve. Summary: Turbidity Counts with the Spectrophotometer to measure absorbance at 600. Direct Counts...
2 What is the minimum genotype of a recombinant cell that grew on minimal media supplemented with arginine, methionine and the antibiotic tetracycline but lacking the essential amino acid isoleucine 3 How would you determine if your recombinant cells had also acquired the tryptophan gene from the Hart Complete the following table indicating which of the organisms (F and/or Hfr used in this experiment would be expected to grow on the given media. Unless specified, MMD is just minimal medium...
lab question 1. What is the basis of the different purification methods? 2. What are some of the factors the might have interfered with your results? 3. How might you improve the process to increase the yield and purity? lab process E. coli BL21 (DE3) cells were transformed with the pET Topo-1521 vector containing a reading frame encoding the green fluorescent protein (GFP). Cells were cultured in M9ZB media at 37°C until the absorbance at 600 nm reached 0.7, at...
I had clearer images. Part 1 - Making Standard solutions. 1. Into a clean, dry beaker combine the solutions from the table for each calibration solution using the appropriate pipettes. Pour the contents of the beaker into a provided cuvettes (do not fill the cuvettes to the top). Pour any excess from the sample beaker into a waste beaker, rinse the sample beaker, and continue making solutions until you have the blank and four solutions for the calibration. Calibration Solution...
7. The Absorption Spectrum of Cobalt(II) Chloride Procedure Getting Started 1. Your laboratory instructor may ask that you work in groups rather than alone. 2. Obtain directions from your laboratory instructor for discarding the solutions that you will use in'! this experiment. 3. Obtain instructions for using your spectrophotometer. 4. Obtain your unknown. Making the Measurements 1. Mark each of 7 dry 18 x 150-mm test tubes with one of a series of identification numbers running from 1 to 7....
