How would you describe economic development as it applies to your own life? Do you aspire to more material goods? Do you aspire to more cultural goods that use human rather than natural resources?
Personally speaking, in the context of my own life, the meaning of the economic development is the creation of possibilities for a better life in terms of increase in life expectancy, advanced educational facilities, modern healthcare, fulfilment of the essential necessities, fine infrastructure and fabulous recreational aspects.
This does not at all mean that the economic development is expected to unnecessarily yield materialistic and lavish kind of life. Personally, i do not aspire for the material goods like land, buildings, vehicles and so called other luxurious attributes of the life.
I am from India and the ancient cultural and spiritual heritage of India has been scattering the importance of savings, less consumerism/ materialism and taking care of the natural resources.
I aspire to cultural goods as they are both with the relative terms. Paintings, sketching, sculpture, scientific techniques and zoological and botanical specimens are the most aspired aspects by me.
